16-22 September 2019 Let’s Go Tees Valley Commuter Challenge
TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. The Let’s Go Tees Valley Commuter Challenge the ‘Competition’ is promoted by Let’s Go Tees Valley (Darlington Borough Council) of Room 417, Town Hall, Darlington, DL1 5QT.
2. Participants must register to take part in the Commuter Challenge through the Let’s Go Tees Valley website, www.letsgoteesvalley.co.uk.
2.1 Participants of the Competition prize draw to win a Boardman bike bundle which will include a bike, helmet and cycling lights from Halfords up to the value of £750 will be invited to submit a journey log or completing an online survey showing the mode of travel for their journeys to and from work during the week of Monday 16 September to Sunday 22 September 2019 by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, by post to Let’s Go Tees Valley (Darlington Borough Council) of Room 417, Town Hall, Darlington, DL1 5QT or by responding to an online survey that will be emailed to participants on Monday 23 September 2019. 2.2 Participants who register before midnight on Sunday 1 September will be entered into an ‘Early Bird’ prize draw to win a voucher for a half day spa and dine package for two people from Rockcliffe Hall valid for one year from the date of issue of the voucher.
2.3.1 Daily prize draws will take place from Monday 16 to Friday 20 September inclusive for participants of the challenge who engage on the Twitter, and Facebook and social media platforms using the hashtag #HappyCommute (not case sensitive) and by tagging Let's Go Tees Valley. The Closing Date for each of the daily prize draws is midnight on each of the dates shown in 2.3.2 below.
2.3.2 The prizes of the daily prize draw for social media engagement are:
(a) Monday 16 September 2019: A voucher for a two hour stand up paddleboard lesson with instructor for up to eight people from the Tees Barrage International White Water Centre, to the value of £140.00
(b) Tuesday 17 September 2019: Team Breakfast box for up to 10 people delivered to the workplace of the winner on a mutually convenient date to be arranged to the value of £100.00
(c) Wednesday 18 September 2019: Four (4) Arriva North East weekly bus tickets to the value of (1 weekly ticket) £29.70 x 4 = total value of prize £118.80
(d) Thursday 19 September 2019: Sparkling afternoon tea for two at Wynyard Hall to the value of £50.00
(e) Friday 20 September 2019: A Fitbit Versa to the value of £200.00
3.1 To enter the Competition for the main prize, you must complete an online survey which will be emailed to all participants on Monday 23 September 2019. Alternatively, a journey log form can be downloaded at https://www.letsgoteesvalley.co.uk/media/3115/lets-go-tees-valley-sept-2019-commuter-challenge-journey-log.pdf. This should be completed and emailed to email@example.com or posted to Let’s Go Tees Valley (Darlington Borough Council) of Room 417, Town Hall, Darlington, DL1 5QT and received no later than midnight on Monday 30 September 2019 (closing date).
3.2 Entries received after the Closing Date will not be considered. Let’s Go Tees Valley reserves the right in its absolute discretion to extend the closing date where the entries received are of insufficient quality or quantity.
3.3 No entry fee is required. However, you are responsible for the cost (if any) of sending your Competition entry to us.
3.4 Let’s Go Tees Valley will not accept:
(a) responsibility for Competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
(b) proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the Competition.
3.5 By submitting a Competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.
4.1 The Competition is only open to all residents in the UK aged 18 years or over, except:
(a) employees of Let’s Go Tees Valley;
(b) individuals who are professionally connected with the Competition or its administration; or
(c) members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.
4.2 In entering the Competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize you may win. Let’s Go Tees Valley may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the Competition.
4.3 Let’s Go Tees Valley will not accept Competition entries that are:
(a) automatically generated by computer;
(b) completed by third parties or in bulk;
(c) illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;
4.4 There is a limit of one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
4.5 Let’s Go Tees Valley reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize Competition.
5.2 Prizes are subject to availability. There is no cash alternative for the prize. The prize is not negotiable other than set out in the terms above or transferable.
5.3 Let’s Go Tees Valley and Connect Tees Valley staff members and an independent party not employed within Let’s Go Tees Valley or Connect Tees Valley (the "Judges") will draw the one winner of the ‘Early Bird’ prizes (Half Day Spa Rockcliffe Hall), 5 winners of the daily prizes and the 1 winner of the main prize.
5.4 Let’s Go Tees Valley will send the full names of the judges to anyone who writes within one month after the Closing Date of the Competition requesting details of the judges and who encloses a self-addressed envelope to the address set out in clause 1. A list of names of the judges can be requested via email at firstname.lastname@example.org with the wording "Commuter Challenge Judges" in the subject line, from the Closing Date for a period of 30 days.
6.1 The winner of the Competition prizes will be announced on the Commuter Challenge page of the Let’s Go Tees Valley website and the Let’s Go Tees Valley Facebook page as soon as feasible the Closing Dates (Announcement Date).
6.2 The decision of the judges nominated by Let’s Go Tees Valley is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
6.3 Let’s Go Tees Valley will contact the winners personally as soon as practicable after the Closing Dates, using the telephone number or email address provided when the participant registered for the Commuter Challenge. Let’s Go Tees Valley will not amend any contact information once the Competition entry form has been submitted.
6.4 Let’s Go Tees Valley will send the name and county of the winners to anyone who writes within one month after the Closing Dates of the Competition requesting details of the winners and who encloses a self-addressed envelope to Let’s Go Tees Valley.
7.1 If you are the winner of the prize, you will have 7 days from the Announcement Date to claim the prize by responding to the email or phone call made by Let’s Go Tees Valley. If you do not claim the prize by this date, your claim will become invalid and another name will be selected at random from the remaining eligible entries. Depending on which is most method is most practical, the prize(s) will be sent either by post, by email to the winners or collected in person from Room 417, Town Hall, Darlington, DL1 5QT.
7.2 Let’s Go Tees Valley will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed their prize within 7 of days of the Announcement Date, the Let’s Go Tees Valley reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.
7.3 Let’s Go Tees Valley does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
8. Insofar as is permitted by law, Let’s Go Tees Valley, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winners or accept any liability for any loss, damage, or personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where the personal injury or death is caused by the negligence of Let’s Go Tees Valley. Your statutory rights are not affected.
9.1 If you are the winner of the Competition, you agree that Let’s Go Tees Valley may use your name, image and town or county of residence to announce the winner of this Competition and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes.
9.2 By entering into this Competition you may receive future emails from Let’s Go Tees Valley and or Connect Tees Valley regarding related promotions, Competitions or cycling and sustainable transportation information for the Tees Valley region. If you do not wish to be contacted by Let’s Go Tees Valley or Connect Tees Valley in future, please send an email to email@example.com with the wording "Unsubscribe" in the subject line at any time.
9.3 By entering the Competition, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the Competition entry may be held and used only by the Let’s Go Tees Valley or its agents and suppliers to administer the Competition.
10.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, Let’s Go Tees Valley may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the Competition.
10.2 Let’s Go Tees Valley reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
10.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
